Seychelles Ocean Festival to kick off at year’s end

The Seychelles Ocean Festival, which is the successor to the long-running and extremely popular SUBIOS, (sub-Indian Ocean Seychelles) is due to be launched during the first week of December 2016, after last year’s launch had to be rescheduled due to national elections.

The objective of the newest festival in Seychelles calendar of events is to broaden the scope of what has become a Seychellois celebration of their extraordinary marine heritage over a week of exhibitions, activities and marine-themed entertainment.

The Seychelles Tourism Board and partners are still working on the architecture of the new festival which will aim to retain certain popular elements of the old SUBIOS while broadening its coverage of the burgeoning Seychelles marine scene which now includes the Blue Economy, sailing and cruising and sports fishing as well as diving, which SUBIOS championed for two decades at the international as well as local level.

The new Seychelles Ocean Festival looks to bring all of these various themes together under one roof and provide locals and visitors alike a wonderful apercu of Seychelles and its surrounding Ocean.
